The three Nemesis super humans become the world’s most unusual domestic staff when assigned to protect a former dictator whose life is in jeopardy.

El Caudillo (GEORGE MURCELL)—the “Iron Man”—is a deposed dictator, planning to take control of his country again. But the military junta which is now in control is likewise planning a coup—his assassination. El Caudillo’s death would not only be the removal of a threat to the new regime but would be a great morale booster if it could take place on or before the first anniversary of the take-over.

Nemesis boss Tremayne (ANTHONY NICHOLLS) therefore assigns the three super agents Craig Stirling (STUART DAMON), Sharron Macready (ALEXANDRA BASTEDO), and Richard Barrett (WILLIAM GAUNT) to protect the flamboyant, egotistical El Caudillo, and they do so in the guises of a new domestic staff, taken on by El Caudillo’s major domo Pedraza (PATRICK MAGEE)—Craig as a bodyguard, Sharron as a secretary, Richard as a chef.

El Caudillo’s strutting pomposity, they soon find, is a facade for his inner cowardice and this in itself complicates their task. It is also an embarrassment for Sharron that her new “boss” should be so amorous, though much of his attention is devoted to an attractive Spanish maid (LISA THOMAS).

How is the assassination attempt to be carried out? It’s known that the man behind the plot is General Tornes (MICHAEL MELLINGER) and that the man put in charge of the operation is his henchman, Carlos (STEPHEN BERKOFF). It is also known that the attempt will be made within days.

But the super-intuitive powers of the Champions are alerted each time flash-point is reached. El Caudillo is saved, in the nick of time, from being shot. He is also saved from being poisoned by a highly ingeniously devised lethal cigar which has been sent to him by an “admirer.” But all the time, it’s El Caudillo himself who is the greatest threat to their protective efforts...
