The Champions step in to rescue a girl doctor who is being held against her will on a Caribbean island. |
 |
Professor Anna Maria Martes (FRANCES CUKA), a world-famous doctor, visits the Caribbean island of her birth to gather information for a treatise she is working on, and an international incident threatens when the authorities cancel her exit visa and produce the shiftless husband, Angel (PHILIP MADOC), she divorced many years ago. They refuse to recognise the fact that she is now an American citizen, with an American divorceand insist that she remains on the island, working for the glory of her Mother Country and the Revolution. The Three Champions, Craig (STUART DAMON), Sharron (ALEXANDRA BASTEDO) and Richard (WILLIAM GAUNT), are sent by Nemesis to rescue the Professor and they find her under house arrest in a well-guarded apartment. While Sharron inveigles Angel out of the way, and Richard leads the police guards on a wild-goose chase, Craig gets into the apartment and tells Anna Maria to be ready to escape that night. Their conversation, however, is overheard on closed-circuit television. The police are now on to Craig, but he escapes. The Professor is placed in a cell at Police headquarters. And this means that the Champions are now faced with having to get her out of her cell. The rescue attempt is put into operation, with Sharron waiting outside in a car at the ready. Craig and Richard make their way into the police building via the roof and plunge the whole place into darkness by smashing the generator. The police cannot see anything in the pitch blackness; but Craig and Richard, with their superhuman qualities, can see in the dark. The rescue is a success. Now the chase begins. It takes them to a small fishing village, where Richard and Craig are to send a signal message to a waiting submarine, but while they are doing so, Sharron and Anna Maria are caught by the Commandante (RONALD RADD) and his men. But they have reckoned without Sharrons uncanny strength... |
