Children's Activity Books
The Champions - ch1 - Painting Book The Champions - ch2 - Puzzle Book The Champions - ch3 - Dot to Dot Book
Description  (Left to Right):
CH1:  Painting Book (84pp).
Notes:  Consisting of black-and-white line drawings printed on the heavy paper associated with these kinds of publications, the Painting Book is noteworthy for telling an imaginative, original story—The Champions are asked to help in the search for two boys from the lost city who have travelled to the outside world and are using their special powers to commit a series of audacious robberies. The artwork appears to be by superb TV21 artist Rob Hamilton.
CH2:  Puzzle Book (82 pp).
Notes:  Nicely illustrated, with black and white line work on coarse, heavy paper, this consists of mazes, observational challenges and mathematical tasks posed by Our Heroes. Frustratingly, due to a printing error, this copy is missing pages 17 to 32—as is every other edition I have seen—meaning only 68 of the 82 pages are present.
CH3:  Dot to Dot Book (86pp.)
Notes:  Like the Painting Book, this consists of black-and-white line drawings on coarse paper, and tells a complete story, in which The Champions travel to the U.S.A. to investigate the murder of Admiral Beatty of the U.S. Navy. It is necessary to complete the Dot-to-Dot portion of each image in order to follow the story. The artwork is by TV21 “Dalek” artist Ron Turner—who also illustrated the “Error of Judgement” comic strip tale in the Joe 90-TOP SECRET annual.
Published by: Century 21 Publishing, Ltd.
Year of Publication:  1968.
Format:  Softcover.
203 mm x 260 mm
(8 x 10¼ inches).
